Hello everyone! It’s Tuesday and the weather has been HOT HOT HOT! Like, I don’t want to set foot outside when the sun is still out hot.
Since it has been such a sunny few days, I figured that it’d only make sense to snap a photo of my afternoon smoothie on the sundial. And since there is now a drinks section on my blog, I also figured that I should add more recipes to that section. Now, how many of you guys enjoy drinking smoothies? In this weather, I’d hope all of you do. It’s over 90 degrees over here.
Smoothies are the best meal replacements, pre workout drink, summer refreshment, or I’m too lazy to chew my food drink. Cold and power packed with nutrients and flavors, smoothies are ideal for the summertime. I love mine when they bear a similar consistency to thick creamy milkshakes. This smoothie definitely does remind me of a milkshake. Thanks to the avocado, it has the slight creaminess that makes me not miss milkshakes so much.
Ingredients:
- 5 frozen strawberries
- 1/2 a frozen banana
- 1/3 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 whole kiwi
- 1/2 an avocado
- about 1/3 cup almond milk
Instructions:
- Throw everything into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy!
Ta da! The smoothie is a bit more on the tangy side, so if you’d prefer it to be sweeter, add a bit of honey. It’s loaded with antioxidants, vitamin c, potassium, and healthy fats. Hope you all enjoy!
This will be my last post until Sunday since I will be heading off to Tahoe tomorrow morning. Oh summer, you’re just too good to me. And my friend who invited me, she’s cool too. Have a fantastic week everyone!
