It’s funny how the human brain works. During scorching summer days, I yearn for winter. Now that it’s winter, I dream of summer days spent chasing waterfalls.
This past August, I took a girls only road trip up towards Oregon and visited a handful of beautiful waterfalls. At one point during the trip, we drove into Washington visited this gem of a place: Lewis Falls.
Imagine bright white waters running over slabs of dark granite and into a turquoise blue river. You can stand on those slabs of stone and feel the water rushing beneath the soles of your feet. It’s an absolutely magical feeling. Grounding. It makes you feel small, but fills you with wonder all at the same time.
We actually wanted to jump from the top of this section of the Lower Lewis River falls; however, there were numerous signs warning us that “one mistake could cost us our life”. We figured it wasn’t worth the risk.
We hiked on the Lewis Falls Trail to the middle Lewis River falls.
The trails in the Pacific Northwest are filled with the most vibrant green foliage that I’ve ever seen.
The trail provides plenty of entertainment, and since I’m pretty easily impressed, I was awed by everything.
We ended up leaping in from the top of this waterfall. We had the entire place to ourselves for the most part. Absolutely beautiful and a highly recommended hike if any of you are ever in the area.
Frigid waters, sprinkling rain, and lots of laughs = Lewis Falls.
Days spent with family and friends out in nature are the best! It’s almost Thursday and that means it’s almost the WEEKEND! Anyone have any fun outdoor activities planned?
Whatever you do, I hope you have a blast. Stay happy and healthy, y’all! I swear at some point I will have a recipe for you all, but the next few posts will probably be about other waterfalls that you can check out.
